The Indian Friendship Centre

Sub Title

A few steps north from the Museum will bring you to the Indian Friendship Centre. Incorporated in 1972, it is part of a network of Indian Friendship Centres across Canada.

The Indian Friendship Centre is a place where indigenous and non-indigenous people can develop mutual understanding through common activities. The programs, events, services, and resources at the Centre encourage indigenous people – especially urban and migrating people, who may feel disconnected from their cultural community – to express themselves, become leaders, and live happy, healthy lives. The building you see today was constructed in 2003 to provide space for growing numbers of visitors. Offering health clinics, traditional teachings, children’s programs, sports, outreach programs, and employment services, the Indian Friendship Centre has something for everyone.
