Invasive plants, animals, and other organisms are introduced to our natural environment through human travel and trade. These species harm the economy and the environment by threatening the health of humans, animals, and plants. We should all know about species that are behaving badly and what each of us can do to keep them out of our backyard.

Sault Ste. Marie’s Invasive Species Centre was created in 2011. At the Invasive Species Centre, scientists work hard to prevent, detect, and control invasive species. Their research has raised awareness and produced innovative tools and practices in the fight against invasive species.
