Paramedics, firefighters, and other emergency responders are always ready to help people in need. These emergencies could include medical emergencies, fires, accidents on land or water, and even hazardous material leaks. In addition to emergency responders, there are workers who help prevent emergencies from happening. They do this by educating the public, enforcing fire codes, training staff, and maintaining equipment.

When emergencies happen, ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars rush to the scene. But where do all these people and emergency vehicles stay when everything is calm? They return to emergency response stations, like the Regional Emergency Services Complex located here. This complex is one of several in the City. Surrounding communities (e.g. Prince Township, Rankin Reserve, and Goulais River) have volunteer emergency response forces, but also get help from emergency responders in Sault Ste. Marie.
