Eastern white pine is a native tree that can be found across eastern Canada. It is the provincial tree of Ontario. They can grow over 40m tall and were once used for tall navy ship masts!

The eastern white pine can be identified by its three-sided, soft, flexible needles in bunches of 5. As it matures, the tree begins to become lopsided; the bark goes from smooth, greyish-green to dark, wide scales. It is an important species for wildlife food and habitat.
